~Labor of Love~
This body of work was an absolute labor of love. Because of the grief I was experiencing after my mother passed at the beginning of this year, I was feeling creatively barren, and I had no energy to get out and photograph. I did it anyway, knowing how important it was as an artist to keep creating and I also knew that I would be incredibly grateful to have a body of work created during the most intense and emotional experience of my life thus far. How this portfolio evolved over these past months along with my own emotional transformation has been a bit bewildering.

The final images that I was inspired to create are a testament to my gratitude for the life I was given and my appreciation for all the wild and colorful and creative blessings that I have experienced throughout my life. These images are bold and energetic, and they show that taking risks is ok and fun and necessary to have a full and meaningful life. The different layers that I am working with in my images represent the different moods and processes that we journey through in life, molding and changing the image of ourselves along the way. For me, this portfolio is a celebration of life and is dedicated to my mom.
